Along with restoring tractors' locally we also have restored tractors for customers as far away as North America, Great Britain, Isle of Man and nearer to home southern Ireland.

Established restoring tractors in October 1990 we have a vast wealth of experience in this field. Unlike most other restoration company's that take a restoration on by an hourly rate, our experience leaves us that we can take our restorations on at a price, we find the customer prefers this method, as everyone knows where they stand from the restoration even starts, therefore there no hidden surprises.

Just recently we have developed and formulated a new product that now leaves us we can re-dip old original backalite steering-wheels, leaving them as new again, this is proving very popular with customers for sentimental and originality reasons to achieve that much sot after "concourse class" at shows.

One thing David Graham Tractor Restorations pride ourselves on is delivering quality to the customer in the very best original form possible.

£12,200!! A world record price to pay for a silver Massey Ferguson 135?

David Graham who restored the MF 135.

A world record price for a Massey Ferguson 135 tractor has been achieved by two tractor enthusiasts from Irvinestown and Dromore.

The tractor was painted in a silver aluminum colour to match a miniature 1:16 scale model produced by Universal Hobbies to commemorate the 50th anniversary of MF.

At Cheffin's spring sale of vintage machinery in Cambridge on Saturday week last, the MF 135 in unique livery, was sold for £12,200, £2,200 more than the reserve and more than double the price of a standard MF 135 sold at the same auction.

The result has delighted its owner, Cyril Hunter from the Woodhill Hunting Lodge near Irvinestown and restorer, David Graham of Newpark Road, Dromore.

Cyril Hunter purchased the Massey Ferguson 135 in average farm condition at Cheffin's autumn auction in Cambridge last October.

Their idea was to restore the tractor to the shiny silver colour that is more familiar in model shops. Universal Hobbies is one manufacturer of such models.

Cyril purchased the tractor and David, whose job is vintage restoration, set about stripping the tractor off its more familiar red and grey livery, restoring numerous parts, sanding down and repainting in a aluminium colour.

David explained that the tractor was a 1971 MF 135 in average condition just off a farm with 7,000 hours on the clock. It would have been bought new then for around £600. The tractor was mechanically sound but its appearance needed some tidying up and of course a new repaint.

David, who has been working at Newpark Road, Dromore for more than 20 years in vintage and classic restoration, learning his trade at Stinsons of Aughnacloy, says the new colour is aluminum based and lacquered.

Since he completed the restoration in January, David and Cyril have been bringing the machine to shows around the country including the Farm Machinery Show in Fintona in February when it drew many admirers.

Again at the Cambridge auction, this lot was a big centre of attraction as bids kept coming in until it was finally knocked down for £12,200, a world record price for a MF 135. The new owner is a collector from Cheshire, who already has around 30 tractor models and this was something he cherished to have. The silver 135 was listed in Cheffin's catalogue as being one of the finest examples found, "with attention to detail exquisite."Said a spokesman for Cheffins auctions.
